Cold Brew Vs. Hot Brew


In the world of coffee, there are various methods employed for brewing and depending upon the recipe, ingredients used, temperature exposed and various other factors, you will get a unique result, with every brewing method. What is Cold Brew Coffee?

Cold Brewing is one of the most used and famous kinds of coffee brewing methods. In this method, ground coffee beans are dipped in room temperature water for approx. 20 hours. Cold Brewed Coffee is the concentrated product that is obtained post brewing is complete. Though this brewing method is the most time consuming, however, this can be easily achieved in the convenience of your home and needs no equipment.

To begin with, soak roughly grounded coffee in water overnight and then refrigerate it and use it. This batch can be further refrigerated and used for two-three weeks, as per the consumption. This method of brewing coffee has become the favourite kid on the block because the coffee obtained is less acidic and bitter. Cold-brew Coffee is one of the best blends of subtle amounts of caffeine and taste. It is best suited for making iced coffee and can also be used to make a ton of different coffee recipes.

Some of the benefits of cold brew are its naturally sweet, consists of more antioxidants, is less acidic, is versatile and is convenient to use. With cold brew, you can drink it both hot and cold. While brewing cold, you can also control the caffeine level with many variables such as type of bean and water to coffee ratio.

What is Hot Brew Coffee?

Great hot brewed coffee has a rounded flavour, a satisfying aroma, a gentle sweetness, a crisp acidity, and a hint of lower bitter notes to wrap it all together. It also has a smooth flavour, a rich sweetness, a very gentle hint of acidity, and virtually no bitterness.

Hot brewing extracts are known to be affluent in antioxidants. This variation rises with the level of roasting. In other terms, hot brewed coffee appears to have a consistent phase of antioxidant activity regardless of the roast, whereas the antioxidant activity in cold brew coffee remains a bit quieter for light roasts and continues to get lower as the roast turns darker.
